integrative narrative
Throughout my time at CSUMB, I have been able to expand my knowledge on not only Japan as a country, but as a society and a place of history and culture. On top of this, I was able to come to understand the struggles that come with teaching (as experienced through Service Learning) and how language is important in education, building global competency to build a more understanding world. Through countless group projects, I was tested in not only patience but on my own ability to get things done and work with others. This is an essential skill, and especially for someone who wants to work in Japan or around Japanese co workers. With how much collaboration is engrained in Japanese society, this was a key skill that I was able to learn and will be able to apply in my future.
