course narrative
In this class, I had the chance to learn a lot of new information about some famous and not so famous literature of Japan. Before this class I had no knowledge of the subject, as I don't tend to read literature much in general, but especially not Japanese literature. We had weekly kanji quizzes, with kanji picked out from each reading. This helped broaden my vocabulary as well as learn new artsy ways to say things. By learning about Japanese literature, it gave me a deeper understanding on Japanese views on things like war and social issues. A short presentation I did in the class can be found here.
