MLO 3: Secondary Culture Other Than Japanese
3.1 Students describe concepts of culture and use that understanding in their comparison of the Japanese culture with a second culture other than Japan.
3.2 Students will analyze and make connections between the perspectives, ways of thinking, behavioral practices, and cultural products of a second culture other than Japanese.
Courses that fulfill this MLO:
SPAN 307
Reflective Narrative:
By taking a class not centered around Japanese, I was able to gain a new perspective on what makes Japan different, as well as how it is similar to other countries as well. While learning about Mexican history through SPAN 307, I was able to compare the wars each country went through, as well as how politicians differed between the two. Another interesting comparison was the roles of women through history in both countries, as well as influences from outside countries and their effects on the local population.
